PROJECT PLANNING, SCHEDULING & COST

MANAGEMENT

 

COURSE INFORMATION:

  • Three consecutive lecture days from 08h30-16h30.
  • An assignment must be submitted for grading 18 days after completing the lectures.
  • Dr. Lionel Smalley personally conducts all the lectures and grades each assignment.

COURSE CONTENTS:

  • How to make project planning a success.
  • Differentiating between project planning and scheduling.
  • Conducting a project drive-force analysis prior to planning.
  • Developing appropriate project planning documentation.
  • Scheduling the various activities in order to determine the project's total duration (workdays or workweeks) and critical path(s).
  • Managing delays on projects.
  • Using the "crashing" procedure in competitive bidding situations.
  • Developing and implementing effective methods to fast-track projects.
  • Developing and implementing an effective cost management system.

  • Initiating a project tradeoff analysis
  • Managing project risk.

  

COURSE FEE:

  • The course fee per candidate is R18500. It includes a copy of Dr. Smalley's self-help book, course notes/handouts and catering during the lecture sessions.
  • Seating per course is limited to a maximum of 10 candidates.
